Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Friday made a landmark announcement, pledging to complete the Polavaram project by next year and dedicate it to the nation. Speaking in the Assembly during discussions on the finance bill, he emphasized that his government is working to move the state forward without creating divisions. He criticized the previous administration for mortgaging public assets and taking loans recklessly, warning against placing undue financial burdens on citizens.

Despite ongoing financial challenges in the state, Naidu said his government continues to implement its promised welfare schemes. He assured that the Polavaram project would be completed on schedule and reiterated plans to develop Amaravati, the state capital, with central government support into a city admired globally.

Highlighting political developments within his government, Naidu noted that many new members have joined the three parties under his administration. Several former critics of the previous government were given positions, and he proudly stated that 94 percent of candidates fielded by his party had won in the elections, strengthening his mandate.

Addressing the opposition, Naidu asserted that the status of opposition is granted by the people, not by political maneuvering. He criticized the YSR Congress Party for speaking irresponsibly despite failing to secure enough seats in the elections to claim opposition status. He reiterated that his government is taking decisive steps to stabilize and strengthen the state.
