Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu met with Andhra Pradesh High Court Chief Justice Dheeraj Singh Thakur at his residence on Friday. Thakur, recently recommended by the Supreme Court collegium for appointment as a judge of the Ladakh High Court, discussed several matters with the Chief Minister ahead of his transfer. Justice Thakur was sworn in as the Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court on July 24 last year. His transfer has sparked considerable interest in who will be the new Chief Justice.
In the meantime, numerous officials have been transferred since the formation of the coalition government in Andhra Pradesh. The government has initiated a clean-up in several departments, citing their previous actions in favor of the former administration. As part of this effort, officials in various government departments are already being reassigned.
