Chennai, Tamil Nadu: A construction accident at the Ennore Thermal Power Plant near Chennai on Tuesday evening has left nine workers dead and at least 15 others injured. The tragedy occurred when an arch structure under construction suddenly collapsed, causing workers standing on it to fall from a height of around 30 feet.
Rescue teams acted swiftly, transporting the injured to Stanley Government Hospital, where several are reported to be in critical condition. Efforts are ongoing to ensure that no workers remain trapped under the debris, while authorities have launched an investigation into the structural failure.
