Chennai Super Kings (CSK) secured a hard-fought victory against Mumbai Indians (MI) in their IPL encounter at Chidambaram Stadium. Mumbai, batting first after losing the toss, struggled to build momentum and managed 155/9 in 20 overs.
Mumbai suffered an early blow as star batter Rohit Sharma was dismissed for a duck by Khaleel Ahmed in the first over. The top order faltered further, with Rickelton (13) and Will Jacks (11) departing cheaply. Captain Suryakumar Yadav (29) and Tilak Varma (31) attempted to stabilize the innings, but their efforts were cut short as Chennai’s bowlers tightened their grip. Noor Ahmed starred with four wickets, while Khaleel Ahmed claimed three. Late contributions from Deepak Chahar (28) helped Mumbai post a competitive total.
