Chennai: Chennai authorities are on high alert following a series of bomb threat emails targeting Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and several prominent film personalities. Police confirmed that Sunday night, threatening emails were sent to the residences of CM Stalin, actors Ajith Kumar, Arvind Swami, and Khushbu.

The emails were reportedly received at the DGP’s office. Acting swiftly, police teams, including bomb and dog squads, conducted thorough searches at all targeted residences. No explosives or suspicious items were found, and the threats have been classified as hoaxes. A formal case has been registered, and investigations are ongoing.

This incident follows a recent spate of similar bomb threats across Tamil Nadu. High-profile targets have included actors Vijay, Trisha, Nayanthara, Prabhu, Rajinikanth, Dhanush, music director Ilaiyaraaja’s studios, the BJP headquarters, Raj Bhavan, and foreign consulates in Chennai, including the USA, Russia, UK, Thailand, Sri Lanka, and Singapore. Even the residence of Chennai’s Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan received threats. Authorities continue to remain vigilant amid these ongoing security concerns.
