Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for endorsing Araku coffee, a locally grown product from Andhra Pradesh, during his recent ‘Mann ki Baat’ episode. PM Modi had shared photos from a 2016 meeting in Visakhapatnam where they enjoyed Araku coffee together. Chandrababu responded on X, thanking Modi and highlighting the coffee’s significance as a product of Andhra Pradesh that symbolizes tribal empowerment and sustainable agriculture.
Modi, in his radio address, praised Araku coffee for its rich flavor and aroma, noting its global demand and the socio-economic impact on over 1.5 lakh tribal families involved in its cultivation. He credited the Girijan cooperative for elevating Araku coffee’s status and enhancing farmers’ incomes. Modi recalled his pleasant experience tasting Araku coffee with CM Chandrababu in Visakhapatnam and mentioned its international recognition, including at the G-20 summit in Delhi.
