The removal of Raghav Chadha as the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Deputy Leader in the Rajya Sabha has sparked significant debate. Responding to the decision, Chadha addressed allegations that he had remained silent on Punjab-related issues in Parliament, emphasizing that Punjab is not merely a political matter for him but represents his “soul, home, and duty.” He criticized certain party members for spreading false narratives targeting him.
In a video released on X, Chadha highlighted his consistent efforts for Punjab, including advocating for minimum support prices (MSP) for farmers, addressing the Non-Khanna Sahib corridor issue, raising concerns over declining groundwater levels, and demanding the Bharat Ratna for Bhagat Singh. He stressed that these actions counter the claims of those accusing him of inaction.
Chadha also challenged the party’s decision, stating that his fight for Punjab would not end with his removal. Towards the end of the video, he used a Hindi dialogue saying, “The movie is still on, my friend,” signaling that this release is only a “trailer” and hinting that his future actions will be stronger and more visible.
The issues raised by Chadha in Parliament recently went viral on social media, earning him widespread praise. Netizens have criticized AAP for removing him as Deputy Leader, calling the decision unfair, and reaffirming support for his efforts and stance on Punjab-related concerns.
