Mumbai: Central intelligence agencies have raised serious concerns over the security of Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan following threats from a Khalistani-linked organization. Reports suggest that the Centre has directed authorities to enhance security measures around his Mumbai residence after receiving a threat from the group “Sikhs for Justice” (SFJ).
The controversy stems from an incident involving Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh, who recently participated in *Kaun Banega Crorepati* and respectfully touched Bachchan’s feet for blessings. SFJ condemned the act, alleging that it insulted victims of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. The organization also accused Bachchan of inciting violence at the time by raising slogans such as “blood for blood” after Indira Gandhi’s assassination.
Threats from terror outfits like SFJ only expose their deep insecurity.
Diljit Dosanjh showed respect to Amitabh Bachchan — a gesture of Indian culture, not politics.
Targeting artists for showing sanskaars reflects how extremism fears unity.

According to intelligence reports, SFJ chief Gurpatwant Singh Pannun is behind the recent threats. Considering the potential risk, the central government has decided to deploy additional security personnel at Bachchan’s residence. Intelligence agencies are treating the threat as highly credible and are coordinating with Mumbai Police to ensure maximum protection for the veteran actor.
