Amaravati: The central government has sanctioned Rs 97.52 crore for the development of Suryalanka Beach in Andhra Pradesh under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme 2.0, announced Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh.
During his recent visit to Delhi, the minister met Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and requested financial support for the beach’s development. Following the discussions, the Centre approved the funding. Durgesh stated that additional funds would be sought to upgrade the beach to international standards.

Suryalanka Beach, also known as Bapatla Beach, is located 9 km from Bapatla and attracts large crowds, particularly on weekends. The beach is known for its scenic beauty, making it an ideal destination for sunrise and sunset views, sea bathing, and adventure sports such as jet skiing and boating. Several resorts have been established to cater to tourists.
The beach is easily accessible from Bapatla by road via buses or private vehicles. Visitors can also reach it from Guntur Railway Station. While it remains open throughout the year, March–June and November–mid-February are considered the best seasons to visit due to favorable weather conditions.
