Kasibugga police have registered a case against former minister Dr. Seediri Appalaraju and 16 others for allegedly disrupting law and order. The case pertains to a protest staged by Appalaraju in front of the police station on Friday, demanding justice in the death case of Delhi Rao, a resident of Neelavati village in Palasa Mandal. According to police, the gathering obstructed public movement at the station, leading to the registration of the case.
In Andhra Pradesh, YSRCP leaders have been vocal in criticizing the actions of the state police. Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy recently alleged that certain police officials were registering false cases against YSRCP leaders and warned of consequences once the party returns to power.
Against this backdrop, former minister Appalaraju protested against the police, alleging negligence in investigating the suspicious death of Delhi Rao in January 2025. His sit-in demonstration in front of the Kasibugga police station led to tensions, with the police reportedly facing difficulties in managing the situation.
