BRS MLA KTR has made serious allegations against Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, accusing him of being involved in a massive Rs 8,888 crore scam. Speaking to the media on Saturday, KTR claimed that a major corruption scandal has unfolded under Revanth Reddy’s leadership within just three months of his taking office.

According to KTR, the scam centers around the Amrut tenders, where Revanth Reddy allegedly used his influence in the Municipal Administration Department to grant contracts worth thousands of crores to his brother-in-law Srujan Reddy’s company, despite the company lacking the necessary qualifications. KTR further stated that Revanth manipulated the tender process by intimidating a firm called Indian Hume Pipe (IHP) to secure the tenders on behalf of Srujan Reddy.

The tender process reportedly saw the IHP company awarded contracts worth Rs 1,137 crores, with 80% of the work supposedly being handled by Revanth Reddy’s brother-in-law, while IHP would only carry out 20%. KTR alleged that this joint venture was a facade to siphon public funds, with Srujan Reddy’s company benefitting immensely from the deal.

KTR also claimed that this misuse of public funds could lead to Revanth Reddy losing his position under the Office of Profit law and the Prevention of Corruption Act. He mentioned that similar cases in the past had led to political figures, including Sonia Gandhi, Yeddyurappa, and Ashok Chavan, losing their positions for benefiting family members or being involved in corruption scandals.

KTR concluded by stating that Revanth Reddy is looting the state to enrich his family, using illegal tenders to line his own pockets.
