Gorakhpur: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP and noted film actor Ravi Kishan Shukla has reportedly received death threats following his recent speeches during the Bihar election campaign. According to police sources, an unidentified individual made threatening calls targeting the MP for his remarks during campaign rallies. Ravi Kishan’s personal secretary, Shivam Dwivedi, lodged a formal complaint at the Ramgarh Tal police station in Gorakhpur. The police have registered a case under Sections 302, 351(3), and 352 of the IPC and initiated an investigation into the matter.
The complaint also stated that the caller used abusive language against the MP’s family and made derogatory comments on religious beliefs. Responding to the incident, Ravi Kishan said on social media, “The person used obscene words against my mother and issued death threats. He even spoke disrespectfully about Lord Rama. This is not just an attack on me, but on our faith and Indian culture.” The Gorakhpur police have identified the suspect as Ajay Kumar from Bihar’s Ara district and have intensified security around the MP. Authorities assured that strict action will be taken against those responsible.
