Hyderabad: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has responded sharply to Goshamahal MLA Raja Singh’s resignation from both the party and his legislative position. Singh, who announced his exit amid dissatisfaction over internal party affairs, has drawn criticism from BJP leaders for his repeated public remarks against the leadership.
Party sources revealed that Singh was approached for discussions well before the appointment of the new Telangana BJP president. However, they allege that he refused to change his stance, continuing with what they describe as indiscipline and non-cooperation.
“Party Above Individuals,” Says BJP Spokesperson
State BJP official spokesperson Rani Rudrama refuted Singh’s allegations, stating, “The claims made by Raja Singh are baseless. His indiscipline has reached its peak. If he intends to resign from the MLA post, he should submit a letter to the Assembly Speaker, not the party president.”
She added that the party is forwarding the resignation letter he submitted to the state leadership to the BJP national president. “For us, the party is above any individual,” she asserted.
The episode marks a significant development in Telangana BJP politics, coming days after the party named its new state president. Singh’s departure and the party’s strong rebuttal underscore deepening rifts within the state unit.
