Bihar Polls Conclude Amid Strong Voter Turnout

The second phase of Bihar’s Assembly elections concluded on Tuesday, with polling held in 122 constituencies across 20 districts. Voting began at 7 a.m. and ended at 5 p.m., with voters in line at closing time allowed to cast their ballots. By 3 p.m., voter turnout had reached 60.4 percent. Over 3.7 crore voters were eligible to participate, with more than 45,000 polling booths set up across the state.

The first phase of polling, conducted on November 6 in 121 constituencies across 18 districts, recorded a turnout of 64.66 percent. Bihar has a total of 243 Assembly seats, with 121 seats required for a party or alliance to form the government. The elections have seen a tight contest between the NDA and the Mahagathbandhan, with JDU chief Nitish Kumar and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav campaigning vigorously. Vote counting for both phases is scheduled for November 14.
