BENGALURU: Following the first confirmed case of Mpox in Delhi, authorities at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) have introduced mandatory testing for all international passengers and staff. In a move to prevent the spread of the virus in Karnataka, airport officials are testing approximately 2,000 passengers daily, supported by stringent isolation protocols.
KIA has set up four dedicated testing kiosks, with all international travelers required to undergo screening before departure or upon arrival. The Karnataka government has appointed a special officer to ensure the smooth execution of the screening, testing, and tracking process. This proactive approach comes as part of broader efforts to contain the spread of the virus, with officials urging immediate action to mitigate potential risks.
