Warangal district’s Narsampet mandal witnessed tense scenes at Muthojipet after the death of RTC driver Shankar Goud, who died by suicide. RTC workers attempted to take his mortal remains to the Narsampet depot to pay their last respects, stating that tributes should be offered at the workplace where he had served for over two decades. However, police intervened and stopped the procession, leading to a confrontation.

Following the police action, RTC workers placed the body on the road and staged a protest, demanding permission to take it to the depot. The situation escalated as workers raised slogans against the government and police, alleging injustice and seeking support for the bereaved family. BJP leaders also extended their backing to the agitation and joined the protest at the spot.

Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar strongly criticized the police for obstructing the procession and insisted that the mortal remains be taken to the Narsampet depot as per the wishes of the family and workers. He questioned the restrictions imposed by authorities and stated that allowing workers to pay homage would not disturb law and order.

Later, Bandi Sanjay spoke with the Warangal Police Commissioner over the phone and urged officials to consider the requests of Shankar Goud’s family members and RTC employees. RTC workers maintained their stand that they would not leave the protest site until permission was granted, insisting that the final rites at the depot were essential for honoring the deceased’s service.
