Baba Vanga Prediction Sparks Tsunami Fears in Japan

Tokyo: A prediction attributed to Bulgarian mystic Baba Vanga has sparked widespread concern in Japan, as it allegedly warns of a massive tsunami set to strike on July 5, potentially leading to the country’s destruction. The prophecy, reportedly documented in a decades-old book, claims a deep fissure will form beneath the ocean between Japan and the Philippines, triggering a tsunami that could kill millions.

According to the alleged forecast, Japan may cease to exist on the global map following the disaster. The prediction has gained traction on social media and among conspiracy theorists, especially as several past events — such as the 1995 Kobe earthquake, the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami, and the COVID-19 pandemic — are claimed to have been foreseen by Baba Vanga.

Adding to the speculation is Japanese artist Ryo Taksuki, often dubbed the “Baba Vanga of Japan,” who made similar predictions in his 1999 book *The Future Eyes Are Low*. Though initially overlooked, the book has drawn renewed interest after some of its forecasts appeared to align with real-world events.

While there is no scientific evidence supporting these claims, the prediction has stirred anxiety among sections of the Japanese public. Authorities have not issued any tsunami alerts, and experts urge people to rely on verified information and official weather advisories rather than unverified forecasts.
