New Delhi: An attempted attack on Chief Justice of India B.R. Gavai at the Supreme Court on Monday created a major uproar. A group of lawyers reportedly tried to throw slippers at the CJI inside the court premises. Fellow lawyers intervened to prevent the attack. The protesting lawyers shouted slogans claiming that the Chief Justice had insulted Sanatan Dharma, leading to heightened tensions at the court.
An incident occurred today in the court of Chief Justice of India BR Gavai, as a lawyer tried to throw an object at him.
Security personnel present in court intervened and escorted the lawyer out and detained.
