Jammu and Kashmir: An Indian Army soldier was martyred during an encounter with terrorists in the Chhatru area of Jammu & Kashmir’s Kishtwar district. The ongoing anti-terror operation, codenamed Operation Trashi, is being jointly carried out by the Indian Army and Jammu & Kashmir Police in the region’s dense forest belt.

According to defence officials, the jawan sustained bullet injuries during a heavy exchange of fire and succumbed while receiving medical treatment. Security forces launched the operation based on intelligence inputs about terrorist presence in the area.

During the combing operation, three terrorists were eliminated. The White Knight Corps confirmed the martyrdom of the soldier in a post on social media platform X, stating, “One braveheart laid down his life in the line of duty. Operations are in progress.”

Intermittent gunfire continued as the joint forces intensified their efforts to flush out remaining militants. The operation has been scaled up with additional reinforcements deployed to ensure complete sanitisation of the area.
