The Andhra Pradesh government has approved the creation of three new districts, with Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu giving his consent to the proposal. The coalition administration has decided to establish Markapuram, Madanapalle and Polavaram as new districts. The decision follows the Chief Minister’s second round of review of the report submitted by the Ministers’ Committee, during which he also cleared a few revisions.

In addition to new districts, the government has sanctioned the formation of five new revenue divisions. These include Nakkapalli in Anakapalli district, Addanki in Prakasam district, Banaganapalle in Nandyal district, Madakasira in Sri Sathya Sai district, and Pileru in the newly proposed Madanapalle district. The government has also approved the bifurcation of Adoni mandal in Kurnool district, with a new mandal named Peddahariivanam to be created.

With the formation of the three new districts, the total number of districts in Andhra Pradesh will rise to 29, reflecting the government’s ongoing administrative restructuring efforts.
