Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP) Dwaraka Tirumala Rao has directed that the investigation into the Madanapalle sub-collector file burning case be transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). To date, nine cases have been filed against various employees and leaders in connection with the incident. The individuals responsible for the destruction of key files on the night of June 21 are expected to face legal consequences.
The police investigation has determined that the key files were deliberately set on fire. In response, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has conducted multiple reviews of the investigation and related matters. Following the Chief Minister’s directives, senior officials, including the DGP, have been actively involved in addressing the case.
In Telangana, DGP Jithender convened a review meeting on crime prevention. The meeting emphasized stricter measures against drug and cyber crimes, improved response times for Dial 100, and enhanced efforts to combat crimes against women and children. DGP Jithender affirmed the commitment of the Telangana police to ensure that perpetrators are held accountable and that victims, particularly women and children, receive justice.
