Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu made significant comments about the Jamili elections, reaffirming the state’s support for the unified electoral system. He strongly condemned the YSRCP for making baseless statements about Jamili without fully understanding the process, accusing the party of speaking recklessly to gain political mileage. He further mocked the YSRCP’s theatrics, saying, “People laugh at the antics of YSRCP leaders.” Chandrababu emphasized that the state government remains stable and committed to its development goals.
Promoting Vision-2047 Initiatives
Chief Minister Chandrababu directed officials to widely disseminate the Swarnandhra Vision-2047 document among the public. He highlighted that this vision plan aims to create a better future for upcoming generations. Comparing AP’s conditions in 1996 and 2020, he pointed out the revolutionary changes that have occurred and forecasted similar progress by 2047. The CM called for collective participation from all sections of society to contribute to initiatives aimed at securing a brighter future.

He provided clarity that water associations, cooperatives, and other scheduled elections would proceed according to the established timelines.
Changes in Collector Conference Format
Announcing a revamped approach for the upcoming Collector conference, Chandrababu stated that the format would be distinct from previous iterations. Instead of long, drawn-out reviews, it would adopt a question-and-answer style. The government will share discussion topics in advance with Collectors and SPs, seeking their insights and feedback before the conference.
Jamili Election Bill Set for Parliament Introduction
The Central Government announced the introduction of the Jamili election bill in the Lok Sabha on December 16. Under the provisions of the 129th Amendment to the Constitution, the bill may include four amendments. Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal will present the ‘One Nation, One Election’ bill, ensuring compliance with the 129th Amendment framework. Following its introduction, the bill will be reviewed by the Joint Parliamentary Committee for further discussion and necessary revisions.
