New Delhi: BJP MPs from Andhra Pradesh, led by AP BJP president Purandeswari, met with Union Minister for Steel and Heavy Industries HD Kumaraswamy on Wednesday to discuss the future of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. During the meeting, the delegation submitted a memorandum requesting the merger of Visakhapatnam Steel with the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL). The minister responded positively to their appeal.
In their discussions, the MPs and Kumaraswamy addressed various strategies to make the steel plant profitable. The minister outlined a plan to restore the glory of the Visakhapatnam steel industry and assured the delegation of his commitment to the cause. Kumaraswamy expressed his willingness to hold further meetings to explore this matter in depth.
The delegation included Union Minister Srinivasa Varma, Anakapalli MP CM Ramesh, and other notable BJP leaders. Their collaborative efforts aim to revitalize the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant and secure its future through a potential merger with SAIL.
