Hyderabad: YSR Congress Party leader and former Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamshi has been dealt another legal blow, as police have registered a new case against him related to illegal mining activities in Gannavaram constituency. This development comes just as he was expected to secure bail soon.

The Mines Department had earlier submitted a detailed 58-page complaint concerning mining irregularities in Gannavaram. Following a preliminary inquiry, the Gannavaram police registered the case under Crime Number 142/2025 at Gannavaram Police Station.

Vamshi, who is currently in judicial custody, faces mounting legal challenges with the police reportedly moving to file a PT warrant in court related to the new case. The fresh case has significantly reduced the chances of his immediate release, causing concern among his family and YSRCP colleagues.

On May 13, the court had granted bail to Vamshi in the Satyavardhan kidnapping case. However, he remains accused in multiple other cases, including the attack on the Telugu Desam Party’s Gannavaram office, land grabbing, and illegal mining. In the TDP office attack case, Vamshi is designated as accused A71 and is currently on remand, with the court extending it until May 21.

While there had been optimism about his release on bail, the recent addition of fresh cases has cast doubt on that possibility in the near future.
