Kakinada: Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan on Saturday emphasised that administrative policies must remain consistent regardless of changes in governments, stating that stability is essential to sustain investor confidence. He said the present coalition government is committed to supporting investors at every stage and ensuring a predictable, business-friendly environment.
Speaking after laying the foundation stone for the Green Ammonia Project in Kakinada along with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan said the coalition government, with the support of the Narendra Modi-led central government, is balancing economic development with environmental protection. He described the project as a significant milestone in India’s clean and pollution-free energy transition.
The Deputy Chief Minister said the coalition government aims to position Andhra Pradesh as the country’s leading state in renewable energy generation. He highlighted that the project will be developed over 495 acres with an annual production capacity of 1.5 million metric tonnes of green ammonia. The project involves an investment of ₹15,600 crore and is expected to attract clean energy investments worth $8 billion, with the first phase scheduled for commissioning by the end of 2027.
Pawan Kalyan noted that the project would generate around 8,000 jobs during the construction phase and about 1,500 direct jobs during operations, besides creating large-scale indirect employment. He also highlighted the Integrated Clean Energy Policy 2024, stating that it provides policy clarity and aims to transform Andhra Pradesh into a major hub for green hydrogen and green ammonia production.
Criticising the previous government, the Deputy Chief Minister alleged that abrupt policy decisions and cancellation of power purchase agreements had weakened investor confidence. He asserted that the present coalition government is focused on restoring trust, encouraging investments, and creating employment opportunities for the youth.
The programme was attended by state ministers, Members of Parliament, MLAs, senior district officials, and representatives of AM Green.
