Tirupati: Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has approved the establishment of AP Futuristic Innovation and Research in Science and Technology (AP FIRST), the state’s largest research center, in Tirupati. The initiative aims to advance Andhra Pradesh’s capabilities in science, technology, and innovation.

The center will operate in partnership with IITs and IISERs and is designed to provide a platform for cutting-edge research and innovations. Officials said AP FIRST will focus on aerospace, defense, IT, and digital transformation, while also guiding youth toward future career opportunities.

The project aims to foster knowledge-driven economic growth in the state and create employment opportunities for young professionals. Long-term development and technological self-reliance are among the center’s primary objectives.

CM Naidu emphasized the importance of the initiative, stating, “AP FIRST is structured to benefit both the state and its youth. Our goal is to showcase Andhra Pradesh globally through scientific research and technological innovation.”

The Chief Minister recently met with advisors from aerospace, defense, and digital technology sectors to finalize research plans crucial for the state’s development. Analysts believe that once operational, the Tirupati-based AP FIRST center will position Andhra Pradesh as a leading hub for innovation, research, and technology in India.
