Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu held an urgent meeting with DGP Dwarka Tirumala Rao to discuss the state’s prevailing law and order situation. The discussions focused on the actions being taken regarding posts made by YSRCP supporters on social media and the High Court’s comments on the matter. According to reports, the DGP provided details to the CM about the steps being taken, including the police department’s efforts at reform.
The DGP also reportedly gave suggestions to the CM regarding police department restructuring. Meanwhile, the state government recently issued orders transferring 20 DSPs, and it is speculated that some IPS and DSP-level officers may face further disciplinary actions. The government is considering a discussion on state security measures in the upcoming Assembly sessions starting on the 12th of this month.
