A significant political and legal development has unfolded in Andhra Pradesh as senior YSR Congress leader and former minister Ambati Rambabu was granted bail in a case involving allegedly inappropriate remarks against Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. The Guntur Special Mobile Court approved his bail, raising expectations that Rambabu would be released shortly.

However, Pattabhipuram police presented him in court under a PT warrant for another pending case in which he was accused of misbehaving with police officials. The Special Judicial Court hearing the second case remanded Rambabu in judicial custody for 14 days, until February 22.

Reports indicate that Ambati Rambabu is currently facing nearly 36 cases across Andhra Pradesh. He was arrested in the case related to comments against the Chief Minister on February 1 and has since been in Rajahmundry jail in judicial custody.

As a result, although bail was granted in one case, the remand in the second case has led to Rambabu being sent back to Rajahmundry jail. The legal proceedings underscore the ongoing challenges the senior YSR Congress leader faces amid Andhra Pradesh’s political landscape.
