Aman Sehrawat secured the bronze medal in the men’s 57kg freestyle wrestling event at the Paris Olympics. Sehrawat defeated Puerto Rico’s Darian Cruzmee with a score of 13-5, contributing to India’s medal tally, which now stands at six, including one silver and five bronze medals.
Despite an early point scored by Cruzmee, Sehrawat quickly took control of the bout, recovering from an initial deficit. His aggressive performance in the final minutes allowed him to build a significant lead and maintain it until the end.
Earlier in the competition, Sehrawat advanced to the semi-finals by defeating North Macedonia’s Vladimir Igorov with a dominant 10-0 score. However, he faced disappointment in the semi-finals, losing to Japan’s Re Higuchi, which ended his chances of winning a silver or gold medal.
