Hyderabad: Actor Allu Arjun was released from Chanchalguda Jail on Saturday after the Telangana High Court granted him interim bail. The jail authorities, following the High Court’s instructions, facilitated his release through the rear gate.

Allu Arjun was arrested on Friday by the Chikkadpally police in connection with a stampede at Sandhya Theatre during the premiere of his film Pushpa 2. The incident resulted in the death of a woman and injuries to her son. The Nampally Court initially remanded the actor to 14 days of judicial custody.

Tragic Incident During Pushpa 2 Premiere
The stampede occurred on December 4 when a massive crowd gathered at Sandhya Theatre to catch a glimpse of Allu Arjun during the premiere show of Pushpa 2. In the chaos, a woman named Revathi, who attended the event with her husband and son, fell and died on the spot. Her 7-year-old son, Sri Tej, sustained injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.

High Court Observations
The Telangana High Court noted that the legal sections invoked in the case did not apply to Allu Arjun. It emphasized that the actor is entitled to the same rights as any citizen, stating, “An actor is not exempt from legal rights granted to a common citizen.” The court further asserted that Allu Arjun, like everyone, has a fundamental right to life.

The High Court granted interim bail on the condition that Allu Arjun submits a Rs 50,000 surety bond. It directed the actor to cooperate with the investigation, refrain from interfering with the inquiry, and avoid influencing witnesses. The court also advised him to approach the lower court for regular bail.
