Hyderabad: Immedi Ravi, the alleged mastermind behind piracy websites such as ‘ibomma’ and ‘bappam,’ which caused significant financial losses to the Telugu film industry, was recently arrested by Hyderabad police. Ravi had reportedly taunted authorities, claiming no one could apprehend him and asserting that he possessed all critical data. Authorities acted swiftly, ultimately apprehending the “Ibomma kingpin” from Visakhapatnam.
Following the arrest, popular actor Shivaji commented on Ravi’s skills at a recent film event. While emphasizing that Ravi’s illegal activities warranted his arrest, Shivaji praised his technical abilities, calling him a “superb hacker.” He expressed hope that Ravi could redirect his talents toward constructive purposes, such as contributing to national security or cybersecurity initiatives. Shivaji remarked that talent is universal and that Ravi’s skills, if properly utilized, could benefit the country.

Shivaji also noted the circumstances that may have influenced Ravi, including youth and lack of resources, while stressing the importance of adhering to the law. “He caused trouble for many, but everyone must follow the constitution. I hope he reforms going forward,” Shivaji said. His comments have since gone viral online, with many agreeing that while Ravi’s actions were wrong, his exceptional skills could be valuable if applied positively in preventing cybercrime.
