The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has filed a case against senior IPS officer N. Sanjay, who previously served as the Director General of Fire Services and the head of the CID department, based on an investigation report by the Vigilance and Enforcement Directorate. The report alleges that Sanjay misappropriated funds during the tenure of the previous government.

In accordance with Section 17A of the Prevention of Corruption Act, the ACB sought approval from the Chief Secretary, and upon receiving consent, the case was formally registered. Sanjay has been named as the primary accused (A1), with Soutrika Technologies and Infra and Krithyapp Technologies listed as co-accused (A2 and A3).

The investigation reveals that Sanjay was awarded a contract for the development and maintenance of an online platform for issuing Non-Violence Certificates (NVCs) and for supplying 150 tablets. Despite no work being completed, Rs. 59.93 lakh in bills were reportedly paid. Additionally, around Rs. 1.19 crore was allegedly paid for awareness programs intended for tribal communities. While the programs were purportedly organized by CID officials, payments were made to Soutrika Technologies and Krithyapp Technologies.

ACB officials estimate that a loss of approximately Rs. 2 crore occurred due to these transactions. Further investigation has revealed that Krithyapp Technologies is a fake company, with both Soutrika and Krithyapp sharing the same address. The companies are believed to be non-existent, yet financial transactions were recorded. The ACB is continuing to investigate who established these companies and what other parties may be involved.

The investigation is ongoing, and more details are expected to be revealed as the ACB gathers further information.
