Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) chief K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) reaffirmed that the party has consistently safeguarded Telangana’s aspirations and remains the state’s protective shield. He stated that the past 14 months of Congress rule have exposed governance inefficiencies, leading to growing public dissatisfaction.
As part of the BRS party’s 25th anniversary celebrations on April 27, KCR announced plans for a large-scale public meeting in Warangal, expected to witness a massive turnout. The venue for the event will be finalized soon following site inspections. This decision was taken during a key meeting held at his Erravelli residence on Friday.
BRS Strengthening Organizational Structure
Addressing the meeting, KCR emphasized Telangana’s journey, highlighting the sacrifices made for statehood and the decade-long governance that set a model for development. However, he expressed concern over the current state of affairs, stating that Telangana society is facing hardships. He clarified that the silver jubilee celebrations of BRS are not limited to the party but encompass the entire Telangana society, as BRS represents the political identity of its people.
“BRS is not just a political party; it is a movement built by the people of Telangana. It is their home party, and the people trust BRS as their only shield against current challenges,” KCR stated.

He asserted that people who once believed in Congress’ election guarantees have now realized the reality of governance and are prepared to support BRS in the next elections, whenever they may be held.
Following the Warangal public meeting, the party will undertake organizational restructuring from the village level to the state level by forming new committees. A representative meeting with newly appointed committee members will also be held. Additionally, BRS has decided to increase youth and women’s participation within the party.
BRS to Focus on Telangana’s Representation in Parliament
The meeting also discussed the political landscape in Telangana and across India, with concerns raised over successive central governments allegedly working against Telangana’s interests. BRS leaders expressed concern that the lack of party representation in Parliament is affecting Telangana’s rights.
As part of its strategy, the party aims to raise public awareness on the importance of securing BRS MPs in Parliament to protect Telangana’s interests and strengthen the party’s influence at the national level.
