Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has alleged that the collapse of the SLBC tunnel, which resulted in the loss of eight lives, was due to the inaction of the previous BRS government. Speaking at the Prajapalana-Pragati Bata public meeting in Wanaparthy district, the Chief Minister stated that the project was stalled for a decade under the leadership of former CM KCR, leading to the recent disaster.
Revanth Reddy also criticized both the BRS and BJP, questioning their contributions to Telangana. He highlighted the Congress government’s initiatives, including the ₹21,000 crore farm loan waiver and uninterrupted power supply despite increasing demand. He urged farmers to reject the alleged misinformation campaigns by opposition parties.

The Chief Minister emphasized the state’s welfare initiatives, including the Mahalakshmi Scheme, which provides free RTC bus travel for women, and efforts to expand self-help group memberships from 65 lakh to one crore to enhance women’s economic empowerment.
Addressing concerns over Krishna River water allocation, Revanth Reddy accused KCR of signing an agreement that granted Andhra Pradesh 511 TMC out of the total 811 TMC, impacting Telangana’s share. He reiterated that the delay in SLBC project execution under the BRS regime led to the tunnel collapse.
Additionally, he criticized Union Minister Kishan Reddy for claiming credit for the Mamnoor Airport project while questioning the delay in the Hyderabad Metro expansion. He also condemned the central government for not allocating funds for the Musi River rejuvenation, accusing Kishan Reddy of obstructing Telangana’s development.
