Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Health Minister Satyakumar Yadav has confirmed that the state’s medical and health department is closely monitoring the situation concerning Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS). Speaking to the media today, the minister stated that a review meeting had been conducted with Special Chief Secretary Krishna Babu and the Chief Minister to discuss the matter.
Minister Yadav revealed that 301 GBS cases were reported in the state last year, with the majority recorded at Guntur Government General Hospital (GGH), attributing the high numbers to the hospital’s advanced neurology services. He explained that Guntur GGH handles a significant number of referral cases, contributing to the higher incidence of GBS.

Minister Yadav also criticized former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan for focusing on jail visits in Nellore, Guntur, and Vijayawada, instead of addressing state development issues. He refuted allegations of corruption and challenged anyone with proof of his involvement in malpractice, stating that such evidence would end his political career.
