Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expressed optimism about Congress’s victory in the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, highlighting that the party had already defeated the BRS in Telangana and would now take on AAP in Delhi. At a press event, Revanth unveiled Congress’s key promises for the Delhi elections, asserting that they would offer benefits similar to those implemented in Telangana.

Among the major promises, Congress pledged to provide free electricity up to 300 units and gas cylinders at ₹500. Revanth emphasized that his government had successfully delivered on similar commitments in Telangana, including a ₹21,000 crore loan waiver for farmers and 55,000 jobs for the youth.

The Chief Minister also pointed out the success of the free bus travel initiative for women in Telangana, reiterating that he would ensure the promises were fulfilled if Congress came to power in Delhi.

Addressing the unemployment issue, Revanth questioned the implementation of Prime Minister Modi’s promise of creating 2 crore jobs, challenging his track record. He also criticized both Modi and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal for failing to address key issues like pollution, accusing them of merely competing on holiday declarations rather than taking concrete action.

Revanth further stated that pollution was deterring people from visiting Delhi and emphasized that the city’s development had flourished under former CM Sheila Dikshit’s leadership. He questioned the contributions of AAP and BJP to the city’s progress, arguing that they had neglected vital issues like pollution control.

Revanth also reminded voters that Congress had brought Delhi Metro and CNG vehicles to the city, contributing to pollution reduction. He called on voters to support Congress in the February 5 elections, which will be held across 70 constituencies, with the vote count scheduled for February 8. The upcoming elections are expected to see fierce competition between AAP, Congress, and BJP. In the 2020 elections, AAP secured a dominant victory with 62 out of 70 seats, while BJP won only 8 seats, and Congress failed to secure any.
