Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy officially inaugurated a newly constructed flyover between Zoo Park and Aramghar in Hyderabad on Monday. Built by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), the flyover aims to ease traffic congestion on the route connecting Hyderabad to the Bangalore Highway. The 4.08-kilometer-long flyover was constructed at a cost of approximately Rs 800 crore. Though its completion was announced last December, the official opening had been delayed for various reasons.

Key Highlights of the Event

The flyover, which is expected to significantly reduce traffic bottlenecks, was inaugurated during a grand ceremony attended by officials and local representatives. After the inauguration, CM Revanth Reddy addressed the crowd, emphasizing the importance of infrastructure development for Hyderabad’s growth.

“During the tenure of YS Rajasekhara Reddy, the largest flyover, the PV Narasimha Rao flyover, was constructed. Today, with the opening of this second-largest flyover, we have once again proven our commitment to development and progress,” the CM said. He also announced that the new flyover would be named after former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, recognizing his contributions to the nation.

CM’s Vision for City Development

In his speech, the CM underscored the government’s focus on addressing urban issues systematically. “In the Nizam era, the construction of Osman Sagar and Himayat Sagar solved Hyderabad’s drinking water problems. Now, we are focusing on metro expansion and the Musi river rejuvenation project to drive the city’s further development,” Revanth Reddy remarked.

He also expressed the government’s readiness to collaborate with all political entities for the city’s growth. “For the development of the capital, we are ready to work with anyone, including the MIM. While politics is for election time, city development should be a collective effort,” he stated.

The CM noted that the completion of the Regional Ring Road would be a game-changer for the state, propelling Telangana’s development further. Additionally, he revealed plans for a cable bridge over Miralam Tank to boost tourism in the city.

“The government is committed to allocating funds for development projects. The responsibility for completing these projects lies with the people’s elected representatives,” the CM added.

In a significant announcement, CM Revanth Reddy also stated that the foundation stone for the construction of Osmania Hospital in Goshamahal would be laid soon, continuing the government’s focus on improving healthcare infrastructure.

This inauguration marks another step in Hyderabad’s journey to becoming a modern, well-connected metropolis, with improved infrastructure and enhanced civic services for its residents.
