Several cases have been registered against filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma (RGV) in Andhra Pradesh following allegations of making inappropriate comments about political leaders Chandrababu, Lokesh, and Pawan Kalyan. The accusations also include the morphing of their photos and sharing them on social media during the promotion of his film *Vyuham*. Expressing his displeasure over the media’s sensational coverage of the matter, RGV addressed the issue in a press conference on Monday.
“If Arrested, I Will Go to Jail and Write Four Movie Scripts”
During the briefing, RGV stated, “Regulating social media is a complex task. I have responded to the police within the legal framework available to me. I am currently in Hyderabad, giving live interviews, and some people are claiming that the police have not apprehended me yet. If arrested, I will go to jail and write four movie scripts.”
RGV also questioned the timing of the reactions to his posts, saying, “I have made thousands of posts on my X account over the years. Why are people reacting after a year, claiming that some posts have hurt their sentiments?”

Criticism of Media’s Coverage
The filmmaker criticized the media for its excessive reaction, saying, “A cartoon post can be interpreted in many ways. Major media outlets are quoting my posts and sharing them widely. Despite my statements that I am in Hyderabad, some outlets are claiming I am absconding. Rumors were even spread that Prakash Raj and Nagarjuna were hiding me. The media has become more of a detective than the police themselves.” RGV’s comments reflect his frustration with both the ongoing legal proceedings and the media frenzy surrounding the case.
