Indian Wrestler Aman Sahrawat advances to Paris 2024 Olympics semi-finals

Indian wrestler Aman Sahrawat is on track to compete in the Paris 2024 Olympics, having secured a spot in the semi-finals of the men’s 57kg category. In the quarter-finals, Sahrawat delivered a dominant performance, defeating Albanian wrestler Abakarov with a decisive 12-0 scoreline. Sahrawat earned three points in the first round and continued to score consecutively in the second round, leaving his opponent with no opportunity to score.

Earlier in the competition, Sahrawat achieved a convincing 10-0 victory over Vadlimir from North Macedonia in the pre-quarters. He scored four points in the first round by pinning Vadlimir twice and added two more points before securing another round win. Sahrawat’s consistent and overwhelming victories have fueled optimism that he could secure a medal for India. Sahrawat will face Japan’s Higuchi in the semi-finals on Thursday night, with the potential to bring home another medal for Indian wrestling.
