In a shift from traditional navigation methods to digital solutions, many people now rely on Google Maps for navigation. This trend extends to companies like Ola and Rapido, which integrate Google Maps into their services to guide customers to their destinations efficiently.
Recently, Ola has introduced ‘Ola Maps’ as an alternative within their app. Bhavish Aggarwal, CEO of Ola, announced this development, stating that the company previously invested Rs 100 crore annually in mapping services, but this expenditure is now obsolete.
Ola app users are encouraged to update to the latest version to access ‘Ola Maps’, which promises features such as street view, indoor images, 3D maps, and upcoming drone mapping capabilities. This move represents Ola’s effort to enhance user experience and reduce dependency on external mapping platforms like Google Maps.
