Amaravati: The State Election Commission (SEC) of Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday released the schedule for local body elections across the state, covering municipal, ZPTC, MPTC and gram panchayat polls.
In the first phase of the exercise, elections will be held to 100 urban local bodies, comprising 13 municipal corporations, 77 municipalities and 10 nagar panchayats. Polling in these bodies will take place on October 28, and results will be declared on October 30. Nominations can be filed until October 18, scrutiny will be held on October 19, and candidates can withdraw their nominations until October 21.
Elections to the Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituencies (MPTC) and Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituencies (ZPTC) will be held on November 3, with results to be announced on November 5.
Gram panchayat elections will be conducted in three phases. The first phase will be held on October 26, the second on October 29 and the third on December 2. Counting will be taken up on the day of polling in each phase, and results will be announced the same evening.
