US President Donald Trump has reportedly postponed planned military strikes against Iran following appeals from leaders of Gulf nations amid ongoing diplomatic negotiations between Washington and Tehran. Trump disclosed through his Truth Social platform that the decision was taken after requests from allied countries to avoid escalating tensions in the region. According to reports, the attacks were originally scheduled for Tuesday but were suspended at the last minute.

Sources indicated that leaders of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates urged the US administration to delay military action while sensitive talks with Iran continue. Responding to their concerns, Trump reportedly directed Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and US military commanders to halt the planned strikes temporarily.

Despite stepping back from immediate military action, Trump issued a strong warning to Iran, stating that the United States would unleash unprecedented destruction if diplomatic negotiations collapse. Washington has continued to insist that any future agreement with Tehran must completely prevent Iran from possessing nuclear weapons. The US administration views Iran’s nuclear ambitions as a major threat to regional and global security.

Meanwhile, tensions remain high over the security of the Strait of Hormuz and restrictions related to Iran’s nuclear program, even as a ceasefire remains in effect between the two sides. In an attempt to de-escalate the crisis, Iran reportedly sent a revised 14-point peace proposal through mediation by Pakistan. However, Trump is said to have rejected the proposal, indicating that key differences between the two countries still persist.

Amid the ongoing diplomatic engagement, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian asserted that Iran’s participation in talks should not be interpreted as surrendering to the United States. He stated that Tehran is entering negotiations while safeguarding its sovereignty and the rights of its people. Pezeshkian also made it clear that Iran would not compromise on its national interests or fundamental rights under any circumstances.
