US President Donald Trump reacted firmly to the shooting incident at the Washington Hilton Hotel, stating that the attack had not shaken his resolve. Addressing the media at the White House, Trump asserted that he was fully aware of the risks associated with his office and declared, “I am not the kind of person who gets scared,” underlining his determination to continue his duties.
Trump revealed that he had been alerted to potential threats in advance by leaders such as Marco Rubio and Pete Hegseth. Despite the gunfire incident, he initially intended to remain at the venue and continue attending the event. However, personnel from the United States Secret Service intervened and persuaded him to move to a secure location considering the seriousness of the situation.

According to investigators, the suspect has been identified as Kolo Tamos Allen (31), a resident of Torrance, California, who is reportedly a teacher. Authorities stated that he was carrying a powerful shotgun along with multiple knives at the time of the incident. Notably, the accused was staying at the hotel as a guest, and his residence in California has since been secured as part of the ongoing probe.
Commenting on security arrangements, Trump emphasized the need for enhanced presidential protection, stating that such threats necessitate the highest level of security measures. He also highlighted the importance of having a larger and more secure ballroom within the White House premises. Trump expressed concern over reports that a Secret Service agent sustained injuries during the incident.
The President further announced that the postponed White House Correspondents’ Dinner would be rescheduled within 30 days. Reiterating his stance, Trump said the attack was not the first threat he had faced and affirmed his commitment to continue serving the American people. Meanwhile, authorities have placed Washington, DC on high alert, and investigations are underway to determine whether the suspect has any links to extremist organizations.
