The United States Navy has reportedly launched a large-scale blockade operation targeting Iranian ports and coastal areas across the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. According to official statements, more than 15 advanced warships have been deployed as part of the mission, marking a significant escalation in maritime tensions in the region.
The U.S. Central Command confirmed that operations are focused on surveillance and interception of vessels bound for Iranian ports, while ensuring that commercial ships heading to non-Iranian destinations will not face disruption. The Strait of Hormuz remains under close monitoring as naval assets maintain continuous maritime oversight.

A major component of the deployment includes the USS Tripoli (LHA-7), stationed in the Arabian Sea. From this platform, F-35B Lightning II stealth fighter jets and MV-22 Osprey aircraft are conducting continuous aerial surveillance, strengthening the U.S. Navy’s operational reach across critical sea routes.
Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump reiterated warnings against Iran, claiming that 158 Iranian naval vessels have already been destroyed. He further cautioned that any remaining fast-attack boats approaching the blockade zone would be neutralized, stating that the same strict measures used against maritime drug traffickers would apply to Iranian vessels as well.
Separately, diplomatic efforts between Iran and the United States reportedly collapsed following failed talks in Islamabad involving a delegation led by U.S. Vice President JD Vance. While a temporary two-week ceasefire remains in effect, the breakdown of negotiations has added to regional uncertainty. Analysts warn that the blockade could severely impact Iran’s oil exports, potentially driving up global crude prices, with Brent crude already recording a 7% surge amid escalating tensions.
