Attacks on minorities continue to escalate in Bangladesh, with the Hindu community increasingly bearing the brunt of violence. The latest incident in Feni district has sparked widespread outrage after a 16-year-old Hindu boy was brutally killed in the Lalpol area, according to local media reports.

The victim, Santo Kumar Saha, was waiting in his auto-rickshaw at the Miyaji filling station for a passenger when a group of attackers approached him, allegedly attempting to seize his vehicle. When he resisted, they pushed him under a culvert near the highway and continued to chase him. Santo was ultimately struck by an oncoming vehicle and killed. Police have registered a case, are investigating the incident, and are reviewing CCTV footage to identify the perpetrators. Santo’s family claims the attack was premeditated, targeting him during Iftar.

This attack comes shortly after another incident last Saturday in Comilla district, where assailants threw bombs at Hindus performing prayers. The explosions caused widespread panic, forcing many to flee, and several people were injured. These incidents follow previous attacks on minorities under the administration of Mohammad Yunus, highlighting ongoing security concerns for vulnerable communities.

The continuation of targeted attacks and killings under the current BNP-led government has raised alarm among human rights organizations and the Hindu community. Authorities are under pressure to ensure justice and strengthen protections for minorities amid growing violence.
