Tehran was rocked by fresh retaliatory strikes by the United States and Israel on Iran, with at least 20 civilians reported killed in the latest attack as missiles struck several key locations, including a major oil depot in the Iranian capital. The Middle East conflict has now entered its ninth day, with widespread destruction reported over the past week and no signs of de-escalation from the US, Iran, or Israel.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump had warned of a major strike on Iran, following which Israel reportedly carried out a large-scale aerial assault using around 80 fighter jets. The attack targeted several strategic sites in Tehran, including an IRGC base camp, fuel storage tanks, a major oil refinery, and a police station, while missile barrages continued overnight across the capital.
According to reports, the conflict has so far resulted in the deaths of about 1,230 people in Iran, 290 in Lebanon, and nearly a dozen in Israel. Meanwhile, Kuwait’s armed forces reported drone attacks targeting fuel tanks at Kuwait International Airport, describing the incident as an attempt to strike critical infrastructure. The Kuwaiti military shared details of the attack on social media platform X.
Amid rising tensions, Iran’s Supreme National Security Council secretary Ali Larijani claimed that several American soldiers had been taken prisoner by Iran, although the United States said they were killed in the conflict. Iran also reportedly launched an attack on Bahrain near Mina Salman, where authorities are working to control fires. US President Donald Trump arrived at Dover Air Base in Delaware to receive the bodies of six American soldiers killed in a drone strike in Kuwait, while Saudi Arabia warned it would retaliate strongly if Iran continues attacks on its energy infrastructure.
