iBomma Ravi, who was arrested in connection with a film piracy case, has been granted bail by the High Court with strict conditions. The court directed him to appear daily before the City Police Station and prohibited him from leaving the country. It also ordered him to surrender his passport to the authorities.
Background of Arrest
Ravi was taken into custody by police on November 16 last year for his alleged involvement in movie piracy. He has been in jail for the past three months, and multiple bail petitions filed earlier were rejected by the court.
Bail Conditions and Restrictions
The High Court imposed additional conditions, including restricting Ravi from having independent internet access. In exceptional circumstances, he may use the internet only with prior permission from the police. Authorities stressed that the bail is conditional, and Ravi must strictly comply with all court-mandated requirements.
