Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) president and former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) has responded to the Special Investigation Team (SIT) notices seeking his appearance in connection with the phone-tapping case. In a written reply, KCR informed the police that he would be unable to attend the inquiry on Friday, citing the last day of municipal election nominations. He requested that the questioning be conducted at his Erravalli residence and stated that, as former Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition, he would fully cooperate with the investigation. KCR also pointed out that Section 160 of the CrPC does not mandate inquiries to be held at a single location and asked that all future notices be sent to Erravalli.

Reacting to KCR’s response, the SIT said it would issue a fresh notice after seeking legal opinion on both the date and venue of the inquiry. The agency accepted KCR’s request for exemption from Friday’s appearance and said it would consider his plea for questioning at Erravalli after consulting legal experts. Following this, another notice will be served on KCR.
