New Delhi: Telegram founder and CEO Pavel Durov has made remarks that have attracted international attention, stating that he is willing to bear the cost of IVF treatment for women under the age of 37 who choose to conceive using his sperm.
According to a report by the New York Post, Durov’s sperm is currently stored at a clinic in Moscow, Russia. While he stopped donating sperm several years ago, samples donated earlier were frozen and continue to be used.
Speaking about his decision, Durov said a doctor had once informed him that the number of men donating healthy sperm is very limited. He added that he viewed sperm donation as a social responsibility and a way to assist childless individuals and couples.
Durov revealed that he donated sperm for nearly 15 years, resulting in the birth of around 100 children across 12 countries worldwide. He also stated that these children would have a share in his wealth. Additionally, he disclosed that he has six children from previous relationships.
Pavel Durov’s current net worth is estimated to be between 14 billion and 17 billion US dollars. He clarified that his entire wealth would be distributed equally among all his children.
