Former Maoist leader and social activist Gade Innayya, also known as Gade Innareddy, has been arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for alleged links with Maoist groups and activities posing a threat to national security. According to the NIA remand report, Innayya allegedly made provocative statements on October 18 during the funeral of an individual named Vikalp, which was attended by around 200 people, and organized a public gathering under the banner of Amarula Bandhu Mitrula Sangham. Authorities allege that he incited hatred, promoted Maoist ideology, and encouraged destructive activities across the country.
The case against Innayya was officially registered on November 24. In his speech, he reportedly expressed support for the CPI-Maoist party and vowed to further their ideology, while attempting to provoke the public toward acts of violence. The remand report also highlights his multiple connections with Maoists, including involvement in recruitment and funding activities, making him a potential threat to public safety.
Following the encounter of Maoist leader Hidma, Innayya traveled to Chhattisgarh, met Hidma’s mother, and delivered an emotional speech about Hidma’s death to national and state media, as well as YouTube channels, during which he criticized Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The NIA had previously issued several notices to Innayya, and the recent case reflects intensified scrutiny of his alleged Maoist affiliations and activities.
